Cardiovascular Intensive Care (CVICU)

UMC’s new Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is a 12-bed unit that offers services for patients in need of cardiovascular care. Its nurses are an integral part of the multidisciplinary team approach to caring for UMC’s cardiovascular patients. Our highly trained nurses primarily care for patients with conditions ranging from myocardial infarctions and coronary interventions to those recovering from open heart surgery. The team is specially trained on Dysrhythmia Interpretation and treatment. CVICU staff must be certified in ACLS.
